Retrocedamos en la historia hasta unos 3.000 años A.C. Había tres Emperadores en China, llamados Fu Hsi, SHeu Nung y Huang Ti. Fueron los fundadores de la filosofía Medica China y los primeros profesionales clínicos.
Hacia el año 3.322 A.C., Fu Hsi enseñó a su pueblo cómo cuidar los animales domésticos, como pescar, cómo cocinar, y cómo casarse. También investigó los instrumentos musicales y agujas de nueve distintas formas, hechas de piedra, que usó para el tratamiento de enfermedades. Y lo más importante, estudió el "" Pa-Kua” sobre los octogramas, de los cuales se derivó una teoría del Yin y del Yang. Las fuerzas combinadas del Yin y el Yang producían vida y el equilibrio de éstas confería buena salud; cuando el equilibrio se destruía, se producía la enfermedad. Esta teoría daba las directrices para el diagnóstico y el tratamiento.
